I'm not real fond of some shades, but I think the deep auburn coloration is gorgeous. Either way, though, I'd never cast somebody off as "undatable" simply because of hair color.

That will depend on whether I like the guy with the ginger hair. A person's hair colour is most definitely not a deciding factor for me.
