The older or fatter, or both, you get, the less you like shoe strings. I prefer slip ons or the velcro fasteners.

EXACTLY! i am just plain lazy!

It must be that rich, fat cat Republican diet, eh Mike? (hee hee - sorry, couldn't resist ...)

Actually, married a woman that is an excellent cook and after 50 years, it accumulates. :)

Indeed. I've been wearing shoes with velcro straps since 2004; an arm injury made laces difficult for a couple of years but by the time I could do laces again I was hooked on velcro. Okay, I'll admit maybe older and fatter had something to do with it. :-)

Very true!!! I use the vecro and my cycle boots have a zipper on the inside of each which makes it easier on and off. Not using many lace-ups any more.

CFMPs don't HAVE laces.

???

Come Eff Me Pumps. Like Lana Turner wore.

If I'm going to be doing something that requires traction, I need the laces to keep the shoes on my feet. But I love just being able to slip on shoes during the summer.

I look at doing the shoe lace thing as exercise. While bending over to tie them I turn it into a stretch. The next time, while standing I raise my leg and untie or tie my shoe while standing. Helps in keeping balance in good shape and the stretching lessens the chance of muscle damage.

Sounds like Richard Simmons--LOL

Maybe so but at least I don't have his leanings or look like him.

He is a joke in my book!!
