What kind of preparation would you suggest? Put evolution on Fast-forward?
I have to agree. How should one prepare for mass extinction? And what should we prepare for?
Umm... prayer? ;o)
We should prepare for prayer?
No, but if you're a believer in such things then prayer might be your best option to prepare for mass extinction.
I don't know, dry rations and bomb shelters?
Yippee! More land for me! (lol)
Yeah, because it would suck for that to happen and us not be ready.
The Today show asked Jerry Fawell's son (a minister in his father's church) to appear on the show the afternoon of September 11th. They asked him (according to the intro) to offer some 'words of comfort' to America. They were still showing the footage, still replaying the towers falling over and over again. And there was Rev. Falwell II, shaking his head and saying "Every time I see those buildings fall and think of the people trapped inside, I feel it's a tragedy. I know that so many of them weren't prepared to face God. You have to always be prepared to meet your maker, and if you aren't right with the Lord when your time comes, you're in for a very sad fate. And that's what we're witnessing here. A whole bunch of people on their way to face God and in for a very rough time of it." They cut back to Katie Couric's face at that moment. I remember the stunned look she had, it would have been hilarious if it hadn't been so exploitative on his part. I suspect that's the type of 'preparations' many think we should be making. lmao
Doh! LIke the Danse Macabre in the late fourteenth century!
Perhaps Rev Wright can suggest?
I picked yes but i was too hasty in my selection. The answer is in the question if your an atheist or agnostic like me, and i dont believe in an after-life with God deciding if you get to live in eternity. Extinction means we all die so you cant really prepare to die if its everyone who is going to die. You can prepare if you are pre-warned that "you" alone will die, by making sure loved ones are prepared. But how do you prepare for everyone dying?
I do hate all that "you better have made your piece with God before you die" nonsense. So many people choose to believe in "fictional" characters which no proof has ever been brought forward to solidify the existence of simply to make them have a purpose in life. But why do they have to force there opinions so radically? In my books all the old cults/religions are on the same level as Scientology the new cult/religion, and we all know how dam outrageous they are.
