It takes a racist to pose these racially-charged questions.
no - just curious how many people out there feel it's an issue. I ran across the Rush Limbaugh song today 'Barack the magic Negro' and just wondered if others are as shocked as I am to see such stuff over the airwaves.
Not shocked for it to come from Rush.
You do realize that Rush took the "Magic Negro" line from an LA Times Story and then created the song parody.
Is it racist to ask if McCain is white? Is the sky blue? Is grass green? Is the sun yellow? It seems to me these questions are often asked of parents whose kid is in possession of their first box of crayons. Lighten up. :-)
Amen!

[1 point] 120 days ago by deleted user ReplyHis father was black, his mother is white. So why do we classify him as "black"?
I think that goes all the way back to the '1 drop' thought process. If thats the case - then I (who looks like a Norwegian) am black because of a g-g-g-grandmother...lol

I prefer to judge people on their actions, not their color. I think America is showing it's prejudice in the media by continually pointing up that Barack is black. It leads to that kind of crap we see with the "terrorist fist jab" commentary by Fox news.
Glad to know where YOUR prejudice is rooted.
Odd...this question and response is three days old. Doing a little internet stalking because I pissed you off?

[1 point] 117 days ago by deleted user ReplyAh, now I am a racist. Why? Are you black? Do you feel I was personally directing a FUCK YOU at you because you are black? Don't know how standing up for voting rights in MY country is considered racist, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
And just to be clear, my comment was after being told TWICE that I was a terrorist sympathizer (as a citizen of NYC, I beg to differ). And after being told: "flipant stupid silly and down right insulting to people of genuine problem governments give yourself a real big pat on the back and move to Zimbabwe if you think things are so bad" to a joke two of us were sharing, I am MORE than a little pissed off. I don't think you would have responded any differently if I had treated YOU that way. As you troll through my previous responses, you will note that I never have resorted to that kind of commentary to any other member here. That should tell you something.
For the record, a black man once told me that EVERYONE in my country is a racist, including him. We cannot help ourselves, it is embedded in our culture and our media. I happen to agree. The only thing we can do is work through our differences and hope that our children's children's children don't have to put up with the same crap.
I agree. Answer #4 makes me think the question was written by an apologist, probably a white one; uh, probably a white liberal one who takes care to see the quota is filled every time party invitations are sent out.
Black and white is the pigment of your skin, it is incorrectly used to refer to your ancestry. If both your parents are African American and have black skin pigment, and you come out albino, you are still African American but you are white.
I have a friend who is African American but has white skin, not albino but normal white people skin, blue eyes, and blond hair. But she has an African American body, with the face, nose, body, and everything. And i don't know how the fuck that happened but the fact is she has white skin and has African American ancestry.
though Barack Obama has a mother of European decent with white skin and a father from Africa with black skin, the fact is Barack Obama has black skin, so inturn he is black. He is not black and white, that would make him a Dalmatian : ].
This has come up over and over with people of mixed ancestry. If someone is bi-racial, they're given a form and asked to mark their racial heritage. So, how do you choose one or the other? It's like being asked to choose your mother's family, or your father's family.
And so, the concerned parties tried to find the oldest well-established method of claiming a racial heritage and decided that, whatever it was, it would stand as the 'norm' for all racial decisions.
The Jews won. For more than 2000 years, a child born to a Jewish woman is considered Jewish by blood. A child born to a Jewish father and a non-Jewish mother is not considered of Jewish blood. This probably was decided by the oldest method known to man: you ALWAYS know who your mother is ... but there's a chance that HE is not your father.
Thus, according to the oldest established racial inheritance laws in the world. Obama is white. Judging by a few white people I know, we could use a few smarter ones. I think we should take him.
