How long would you be willing to wait in line to vote for a new government? Ask a Question

The Governemt we have now is absoluty horrible and the crisis' they got us into is almost unaviodable. We need a new government to fix what the previous government have borken, and to set things straight, so in answer to your question: I'd wait about 3 minutes!

The Labour government under Gordon Brown ? I thought Tony Blair was Labor Party as well ....

Hmmm.. I'm not really following british poltics...

You'll be waiting a loooong time.

That is what I like about absentee ballots. Nobody in line at the post office.

I have to agree there. I voted a couple of weeks ago.

The problem with that is, did it get counted? I voted absentee in WV, and still wonder if it was round-filed.

I didn't trust the mail. I hand delivered it to the Supervisor of Elections.

If I could have done that, I could have voted there. It's a 12 hour round-trip from here to there not counting actually doing anything.

I guess the only other option would be to FedEx it. Where do you live, must be rural. I live about 1 mile from the elections office, so it's not a problem.

I live about 20 minutes from the seat of the county I am a resident of, am registered in, and vote in. I work in another state, so am often gone for months at a time. I would never be able to afford a house anywhere they pay me enough to live on; I can't pay my bills on the wages available anywhere I can afford to buy property.

Yeah, and you can be pretty sure they won't be counted. Sweet!

I think they're only counted in a case where it is close enough to alter the outcome.

True. lol!

It is instructive to look at the voting for West Virginia.

Obama 43%, McCain 56%

For Senator, the Dem candidate got 64% of the vote.

For Governor, the Dem candidate got 70% of the vote.

For Congress, two Dems won with large margins, and one incumbent Rep, also by a large margin.

All candidates except Obama were white.

It was not the only state for which a similar pattern obtained.

Although i believe it is important to exercise our right to vote (because we are lucky enough for democracy), i wouldn't want to wait longer than an hour as i hate waiting. i would try and miss the queues any way possible
