I took only one class as a gen. ed. requirement - "Anthropology 101"- does that count as studying or were you looking for more classes to constitute studying?
'S up to you.
Did you follow up that class with ongoing reading in the subject, at least on the best-seller level?
No, I haven't done any follow up readings, but who knows, I may in the future. I did enjoy the class though and did very well.
The area I currently am reading is is where cultural anthropology, sociology, and cognitive sciences meet. Like "The Science of Fear" and :Kluge. The book that has probably had the most impact on my worldview in the past 20 years was "Guns, Germs, and Steel."
I took a couple classes. In one we went to S. Georgia and dug up a bunch of Guale Yamasee (sic) indians where they had been Christian converts in the Spanish forts of the area around mid 1500s. It was very interesting but hard work. I personally uncovered an 18 y/o male who died from an infected tooth.
Why do you ask?
