I truly believe that suicide is the most selfish act any person could possibly commit. I had thoughts at one time about it, until I realized the implications to others if I did so. I decided that no matter how bad I may have felt at the time, it was not possible for me to become that big of an asshole.
I fully agree with this. I am the same, i havent done because i know the pain it would cause one or two people that mean alot to me. All the mess i might have created - i would just be leaving for someone else to clear up.

Who cares if you commit suicide or not, no one. The comment is; what a dumb a-s. He/she could have taken care of their problems with out doing that. The best thing to do is to just say,"F**k 'em if they can't take a joke" and keep on going.
OH yeh, you are right! (might be why i am still here) But sometimes, things like illness and the appearence of your general condition of your life at the time can be too overwhelming.
My dad had uncurable cancer. When he had a couple of months left, he was dieing anyway so he wanted to get it over with sooner. It is against the law in Illinois so they had to keep him jacked up with narcotic pain relievers until he died "naturally". In such a case, I too think it should be allowed but not because some one is have a low point in their life.
isnt that whats known as euthanasia??
and YES - i totally agree it should be allowed. More so than abortion. it is illigal in UK too.
Why do you think that?
were you talking to me? why do i think what?
sorry

No, I was replying to Hauli.
I have been in some very bad places, and havent wanted to know what my life was going to be like in the future.
The question implies that despite being in a very ‘dark place’, when life seems too grim to bare, life continues, pain subside and hope, support and confidence in the unknown possibilities and opportunities around the next corner, gradually ‘heals’ you. Pain, bereavement, tragedy and disappointments are part of the challenge of living but can sometimes get the better of us. Knowing that most of us are, or have been, struggling with the life or death choice scenario but come through, is in itself an enlightening thought that can hopefully act as a positive force towards a change and even contentment with our lives.
I have to say, that is absolutly beautiful.
Aye, 'tis.
